Itzik Ben-Gan Itzik Ben-Gan is a Principal Mentor and Founder of Solid Quality Mentors. A SQL Server Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) since 1999, Itzik has delivered many training events around the globe focused on T-SQL Querying and Programming, Performance Tuning, and Internals. Lubor Kollar Lubor is a member of SQL Server development group since the 6.5 release in 1996. As a Program Manager, he was responsible for development of the Relational Engine. Among many features he was working on, probably the most significant were the first version of failover clustering, introduction of query parallelism taking advantage of multi-CPU and (later) multi-core machines, outlining needs for Resource Governor a long time before it was developed, and serving as a PM for table and index partitioning in SQL Server 2005, when he briefly took over GPM-ing the whole engine.
After shipping SQL Server 2005, Lubor joined the Customer & Partner Group, composed of several customer and partner-facing teams. Lubor managed the Customer Advisory Team (CAT), designing the largest and most demanding implementations of SQL Server around the world. In 2010, Lubor joined the SQL Azure team, where he built a new team of program managers and developers supporting deployment of selected applications on the Azure platform. Later the same year, he completed the “loop” and rejoined the core engine development team, leading a team of Program Managers responsible for query optimization, query execution, data warehousing, and scale-out.
Before joining Microsoft, Lubor was developing DB2 engines for various OS platforms in IBM laboratories in Toronto and Santa Teresa, including the first version of DB2 on Unix. His last project at IBM was development of IBM's first scale-out DB solution, DB2 Parallel Edition, which shipped in 1995.
Davide Mauri Davide Mauri is a Solid Quality Mentor and a member of the Board of Directors of Solid Quality Learning Italia. A well known Microsoft SQL Server MVP (Most Valuable Professional), MCP, MCAD, MCDBA, and MCT, and acclaimed speaker at international SQL Server conferences, Davide enjoys working with T-SQL, Relational Modeling and studying the theory behind it. Dejan Sarka Dejan Sarka focuses on development of database & business intelligence applications. Besides projects, he spends about half of the time on training and mentoring. He is the founder of the Slovenian SQL Server and .NET Users Group. Dejan Sarka is the main author or coauthor of nine books about databases and SQL Server. Dejan Sarka also developed two courses for Solid Quality Mentors - Data Modeling Essentials and Data Mining with SQL Server 2008. As an MCT, Dejan Sarka speaks on many local and international events. Some of the international events include conferences such as PASS, TechEd, and DevWeek. He is also indispensable on regional MS events. Grega Jerkič Grega Jerkič is an independent consultant working for Solid Quality Mentors. For last 10 years, he has been developing, architecting and managing different projects focusing on data warehousing, mdm, data integration, analytical / planning solutions and predictive analytics mostly with Microsoft technology. Dean Vitner Dean is a mentor for SolidQ and a DB designer/developer for one of the major ISVs in Croatia.He has been working with SQL Server since version 6.0.Earned several MS certificates (MCSD, MCSD .Net, MCDBA, MCITP).He was awarded MS MVP for SQL Server every year since 2007 and manages the local MS community, and right now being busy organizing a Croatian SQL Server user group as well as Organized and helped organize several regional conferences and community events. Zoltan Hangyal Zoltán Hangyál, Database Engineer, LogMeIn. He is one of the first Microsoft Certified Masters (MCM), Zoltan has 13+ years of SQL Server experience, starting with SQL Server 7.0. In addition to working with core SQL engine functionality, he also has experience working with BI related projects. Gianluca Hotz Gianluca Hotz is an independent consultant specializing in architecture, high availability, capacity planning, performance tuning and database design for SQL Server. Gianluca has been working in the IT field since 1993 and with SQL Server since 1996 starting with version 4.2 on Windows NT. Besides consulting he also works in the training field and has been in charge of the SQL Server courses for the largest Italian CTEC (Mondadori Informatica Education). Matija Lah Matija Lah, formally a university graduate of law, has been involved in information management since the nineties. His first introduction to SQL Server in IUS Software d.o.o. Rok Bermež Rok Bermež is Slovenian Windows Azure MVP, he works as a Software Engineer and Microsoft Certified Trainer at Kompas Xnet. His primary interests include cloud computing and web development. With extensive experience in development and architecture he participated in many projects and since the CTP release of Windows Azure much of those projects are based on Windows Azure platform.
